Bengal High
After Sourav Ganguly and Deep Dasgupta, it seems that Sourasish Lahiri will wear a Team India cap. Lahiri is a consistent spinner, who has been getting bagsful of wickets in the domestic circuit for a number of seasons on the trot. With Murali Karthik failing to impress on a regular basis, and Piyush Chawla too inexperienced at the first-class level to book an India berth at the highest level, Lahiri can be a very good support bowler to Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh. He can be really effective in the shorter version of the game, since he can use the long handle to good effect, where he has surely an edge over the other spinners like Amit Mishra and Sarandeep Singh. With coach Greg Chappell stressing on the creation of a pool of pacers, Shib Shanker Paul and Ranadeb Bose, with plenty of recent first class wickets to boast of, may also get a look-in into the Team India squad.
