Road To Disaster

The caving-in of a newly built six hundred metres of the National Highway 6, under the Golden Quadrilateral Project, only goes to show the malpractices and negligence going into the implementation of the otherwise much-hyped project. If the murder of National Highways Authority of India engineer Satyendra Dubey was not enough for authorities to take note of the fallacies gushing into the materialization of the project, the new highway on the Bengal plains taking the shape of an avalanche or earthquake-struck hilly terrain, should be leading to countrywide agitation against those responsible for attempting to make a mockery of human lives and properties, including public money being spent for such public disservice, in the name of better transport connectivity in the country.
