It is heartening that the leftist West Bengal government has finally agreed to allow a private entrepreneur, Anil Ambani to set up a university in the state. It is expected that the new information technology university scheduled to come up at Kalyani within the next year and a half will cater to the needs of the burgeoning IT sector in the state. The Reliance group under the younger Ambani sibling has also to be praised for considering it worthwhile to set up such an IT school in West Bengal, which has traditionally been the breeding ground for some of the best brains in the country and is currently en route to tap its industry potentials in big ways.
