The Fiery Naxalite Revival

The alleged Maoist killings in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh only go to point to the alarming extent to which the Naxalites have spread their wings virtually unhindered following their temporary suppression in the 1970s. Now that they have been left unaccounted for in past two-three decades, it is the duty of the national administration to hit them hard and uproot them once and for all. The brutality of their attacks is shocking and no less bewildering is their strategy of outbreak. The police is still in dark as to how they were provided with the arms and ammunition to materialize their violence. Such incapacity of the country’s internal security can only further lessen people’s confidence in the country’s police internal defence mechanism.
