Women In Blue
The Indian women’s cricket team deserves kudos for sweeping through the Asia Cup. Neither Pakistan nor Sri Lanka is among the top teams in women’s cricket. But that does not undermine the importance of the emphatic nature of India’s win. India’s batswomen like Anjum Chopra and Mithali Raj have been consistent performers over the years. And now it is heartening to see that the Indian bowlers, like Jhulan Goswami and Rumeli Dhar are bowling with guile. Also, Karuna Jain the wicket-keeper – batswoman, seems to be the female version of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Hopefully, the men in blue should also be able to cruise through winning ways in Pakistan.
