Industrial Meeting Space
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's zeal for industrialzation of the state is not being manifested in the right way. In an open meeting at the heart of Kolkata, an announcement was made for enhancing the number of jobs available in the state. But naturally, and ironically as well, this meeting and the processions flowing in to it threw the city traffic out of gear, that obviously goes against the motive of the industrialization of the state. Moreover, it would be better if the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is allowed hold such a meeting in the Brigade Parade Ground. It will be directed towards industrialization, and is not supposed to paralyse the city traffic either. In any case, the CII meeting should not have the National Library as its venue, as that would prevent the normal fruitful reading of the library users. The Netaji Indoor Stadium can also be considered as a possible venue for the CII meeting. The concerned authorities are expected to be wise enough not to further damage the Yuba Bharati Krairangan by allowing more than a thousand people to move into and occupy the playing arena at the same time.
