Choked Passage
The entire stretch between Shyambazar and Bali Bridge experienced an unprecedented traffic standstill on Saturday, December 31. It took an incredible close to four hours to overcome the stretch. The traffic snarl had nothing to do with the new bridge construction beside the Vivekananda Setu, as the congestion eased out dramatically after Bali. The traffic police were utterly negligent towards the problems of the commuters, and the experienced bus-conductors too were of the opinion that the congestion was beyond comprehension. Such negligence on the part of the police can lead to any mishap, from discontent among passengers to mass-killing by terrorists.
