Too Much Power Corrupts Too Far
India should certainly leave no stone unturned in its bid to secure a UN Security Council seat and a veto power. That will be a huge boost for developing countries and will supposedly reduce the suspected nepotism at the UNO, especially when India has been known for its considerate and accommodative character. But then again, the best measure should be to abolish the veto system in totality, especially since there is no concrete reason as to why some member countries should enjoy more power than the others. In any case, concentration of extra power in few hands always tends to corrupt the extra-powerful members, the UNO thus far being no exception.
