In A Patriotic Stance
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Babulal Gaur's decision of mandatorily having all government employees singing the national song in unison at office as his latest move for instilling patriotism into people, is stirring, as is his other move of setting a uniform for the government employees. One can wait a while to observe whether or not such rules are actually implemented, and if implemented, how far they are followed, and abiding by such rules, ensured. There is no reason to bring the question of religion into whether or not all should be made to sing the national song. The real issue is how far such compulsion, especially in the matter of singing the national song, constitutional? How can a person who glorifies child marriage, talk in such 'ethical' and 'moral' terms as 'patriotism' and 'equality'?
