Clogged Lines
The way Mumbai is coping with the rain disaster, which it is not accustomed to, is laudable. But the stampede following an unwarranted rumour that led to people losing lives, was unfortunate. And then again, one fails to understand why, in spite of the high-sounding commitments made every now and then by the telephone service providers, both the landline and the mobile services were disrupted for a considerable length of time in the city which happens to be the country's financial capital. In any case, after all, it only rained heavily. It was a not a case of tsunami, and not even flood, actually.
