Soldiers’ Solidarity
The Indian military, in spite of its recently tarnishing image, has no records of resorting to religious atrocities - true to the spirit of secularism. This is perhaps a legacy, among other things, of the Indian sepoys' rising in unison in 1857, irrespective of their professed religions, against British religious atrocities against them. The Abu Ghraib and the Guantanamo Bay soldiers reportedly practising rampant religious atrocities against those who are held there as prisoners, should take a leaf out of the books of their Indian counterparts.
