Smoke Screen
The government's plan to ban onscreen presentation of portrayal of smoking in both movies and television, may appear ridiculous on surface. But it is certainly a novel effort to eradicate the menace of tobacco consumption. Though it is true, that depiction of a character smoking is often essential solely for the need of the story, the glamorous way in which smoking is nowadays oftentimes glorified in the typical 'underworld', 'gangster' movies, draws young people towards this social hazard. What the government can do is to censor such undesirable emphatic packaging of smoking scenes, instead of the outright banning of all sorts of smoking scenes at the very outset. Such complete ban may be introduced after judging the impact of a partial censoring.

Here's a thought. What about banning everything you don't like. Some people won't be happy but hey, you will and that's all that matters, right?
