Players For All Seasons
While Sachin Tendulkar out of reckoning for a spot in the Indian squad, the selectors can try give an extended run to either Dinesh Mongia or Sridharan Sriram, both of whom are by now established all-rounders. They are utility cricketers and should match the likings of coach Greg Chappell, who has made his primary motive of driving Team India to World Cup success very clear. Also keeping in view the present state of his fitness and the World Cup in a couple of years, Sachin Tendulkar may find it suitable to the team's interest to concentrate only on the one-day version of the game, as and when he returns to international cricket. Mohammad Kaif appears to be the right person to take his place in the Test team.
