Nuclear Power For Environment

One wonders why at all using nuclear power for combating global warming is a taboo. When nuclear power can be an effective alternative to fossil fuels for warding off environmental pollution, more and more countries should actually go in for nuclear power generation, provided of course that is cost-effective. The rate of increase of global warming has to be checked by any means, and it is absolutely pointless to stick to pointless taboos which go against the larger global interests.
