Failed Bureau

The Orissa High Court's striking down of the death sentence of Dara Singh in the September 22, 2003 Gladys Staines murder case, is unfortunate. One wonders how the CBI, known for its efficiency, could be sloppy in investigating for this case. This is a setback for the county's legal system and can actually work against the interests of communal harmony in the country. The CBI personnel involved in this investigation should be show-caused.
