Play Fair

Kolkata has a fewer playgrounds for children than required. The ever-burgeoning population pressure is not helping the cause either. Moreover, the winter fairs are playing havoc with the lungs of the city. Such fairs should take place in parks and other open green places like the Maidan. Since the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass area may not be accessible to all, such fairs may be orgaised at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, the Ice Skating Rink and other closed but spacious arenas strewn over the city.
