Tiger, Tiger Fading Fast

The tiger census in North Bengal forests, though done by an NGO, is alarming in its findings. The attribution of the cause of the drop of the tiger population in the region from thirty-five to four in next to no time, to the tigers migrating to Bhutan, seems to be an over-simplification of things, with little factual support. The Union Government should extend all necessary support to the state to conserve wildlife and properly document all data regarding the state of wildlife in the state.
