The Indian men's cricket apex body, Board for Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest body of its kind in the world. In spite of the recent spate of controversies affecting it, it has still a sound administration. Indian women's cricket will be immensely benefited, if the men's and women's cricket administration authorities, hitherto separate, are merged. Since the BCCI has the necessary infrastructure, there is no reason why the two crickets can be controlled by the same organisation, especially when the move has worked well in some other cricketing nations.
