The Last Chance

Sourav Ganguly has finally got another opportunity to prove his credentials, at the Test level. He should grab the opportunity with both hands to cement his place in the Test squad and claim a place in the limited overs squad with renewed vigour. He is bowling well, picking up wickets, with characteristic regularity at the domestic level, and can play the third or fourth seamer's role to perfection. Undoubtedly, the likes of Chaminda Vaas and Dilhara Fernando will try to batter his confidence with a liberal dose of short-pitched stuff hurled at him. His talent and skill are beyond question. His big-match temperament will be put to Test once again. It is a now-or-never situation for him. It is upto him to fight back with flying colours or perish for ever.
