Rituporno Ghosh and Prosenjit Chatterjee deserve kudos for attempting to take Bengali movie to the next level of success, in terms of acceptability to a broader base of audience. So far certain Bengali movies have been popular to the entertainment-seekers and certain others to the intelligentsia. The balance between education and entertainment, so to say, has been achieved only occasionally. Apart from the attention to be paid on story and application of technology, marketing of Bengali movies has to be revamped a big way, for taking them to the world on a more consistent basis.
