Topper Toppling

England's triumph over the Aussies in the recently-concluded Ashes series may just mark the beginning of a new era in international cricket. England has been able to maintain its superb run of Test form over the past couple of years. And they are looking all set to topple the mighty Aussies from their top spot. However, they need to create a proper bench strength. But perhaps it will be safe to say that Australia is now showing imminent signs of decay, a process that was set afoot a couple of seasons back by the Indians, who drew a five-match away Test series 1-1. The Australians have thus far not felt the need of a quality all-rounder in their ranks due to some amazingly consistent batting and bowling. But now it seems that they should begin the hunt for an Andrew Flintoff. It is next to impossible to win a Test match with four bowlers, when not all of them are being able to fire in all cylinders.
