Misplaced Fuss Over Venues

One wonders why the English cricket administrators are getting so vocal about the choice of venues for their matches during their forthcoming tour of India. It is true that Dharmashala and Agartala have not hosted major international matches. But if the infrastructure is upto-the-mark no team should have problems playing there. The other stadiums as the ones in Goa, Vishakhapatnam, Jamshedpur and other venues all have large capacities, in many cases, more than those of the English Test centres. That is of course because India has a much larger population than England. Infrastructure is not a problem in these Indian grounds. If England can host World Cup matches at venues like Tunbridge Wells, Bristol, Taunton and Swansea, which are small grounds with nominal spectator capacities, inadequate security measures resulting in frequent pitch invasions by spectators, and media coverage facilities which leave much to be desired, the Indian stadiums are certainly better in terms of amenities.
