On A High

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh deserves applause for delving deeper into the Siachen issue. Visiting the high-altitude glacial area at his ripe old age, where none of the previous Indian Prime Minsters dared to set foot, is certainly an exemplary feat. The policy-makers should once get the taste of being out there at the cold. The Indian government should take careful and concrete steps towards removing once and for all from Siachen, the tag of 'the highest battlefield of the world'.
