Vote In Peace

The hue and cry regarding the Kolkata municipal polls has been unprecedented this time. So has been the ingenuity of rigging. Although the security personnel has somehow, for some reason or the other, managed to hit the headlines by beating up a current Lok Sabha MP and a close aide of the state's previous Chief Minister, manipulation of the polling process has gone largely unabated even with the voting process going electronic. Perhaps even in an otherwise peaceful Kolkata, elections are to be conducted under military vigilance.
