Connecting Lifeline

It remains to be seen how far and how quickly the Railways is able to make the newly inaugurated third Kolkata terminal at Chitpur popular and thereby cost-effective. The West Bengal Governmnt and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation should take necessary infrastructural measures to make the Chitpur terminal serve the passengers better. First of all, the spot should be better connected with the rest of Kolkata and its industrial and residential suburbs. It is bewildering how such vital infrastructural requirements were largely overlooked prior to the proper operational commencement of the terminal.
