The juxtaposition of the two stories of the suicide of Malati Giri and the bulging pockets of a section of the Indian citizens, shows that India continues to be a union of contraries, irrespective of whether the ruling coalition is professed to progress in unison or whether it is a self-proclaimed votary of democracy at the national level. That economic disparity still continues to be a menace in India, is a cause for concern. One can only hope that the fruits of a systematic economic planning can be shared by all Indians in the near future. For that to happen, first of all, the country's administrators need to respond to the calls of conscience and stop selling their souls to evil.
